The Tidal Wave Petunias were superstars once again in 2025! I am excited to be growing these petunias for our community flower bins once again this season. Last year, Tidal Wave Silver and Tidal Wave Red Velour put on quite a show and did super well despite the harsh conditions at the head of the Cove. I am growing these two varieties again and adding Tidal Wave Purple. Purple is a new colour in the Tidal Wave series. What I love about Tidal Wave: gorgeous colour, vigorous, robust and best of all, dead-heading is not necessary. Once they begin blooming they go hard all season; they were still blooming heavy when I ended the bins in the Fall.
The seed for these plants was purchased from Vesey’s Seeds. Here’s what Vesey’s has to say about Tidal Wave Petunias: “Terrific flower power with oceans of vibrant 2" blooms cover these go-to plants, that do it all. Tidal Wave varieties are resistant to heat and bounce back quickly after rain, making them low maintenance.
